Free Game Friday 1/3/20: Elite
An undeniable PC classic, Elite is an open-ended space game where you're given a ship and can basically do what you like from there. Trade to make an honest buck, hunt pirates, be a pirate yourself and go looting and plundering, or mine asteroids to earn resources to sell. All of this in turn lets you upgrade your ship and become better at your chosen profession, or just the biggest bastard in the galaxy. It's all totally up to you, and the fact that this franchise is still going today - more than thirty-five years after the original game's launch - speaks to its timeless quality.
